Rolled N345CC outside, added 6 gallons to each 12 gallon tank and let sit overnight. So far, no leaks....yea! However, have since removed C90 for the needed crank inspection. Am having major overhaul completed at same time. Two or three months delay, but all other construction should be completed by the time engine is back.

Hi Jimmy,
I needed a prop spacer to move the prop forward a little bit after I fitted the cowl. When the spacer arrived, I tried to install it. First two bolts threaded in nicely. Third one started to bind up almost immediately. A&P suggested I dial the prop hub to be sure it was not bent. Well, it was bent on one side 20 thousandths. Nothing indicated in prop and engine logs. Prop was only 125 hours since new and installed in 2005. Engine log indicated an annual same date but no reason for prop change or damage to engine. Perhaps not all “occurrences” are posted in the logs!

Anyway, I need to be sure crank isn’t bent or either hub or crank is fractured. Engine has 1300 hours SMO so I am just going to have a major overhaul done and start fresh and confident in the power plant.

Only have to mount and rig flaperons, unusable fuel determination, VGs on HS, a few other minor things and final W&B. Should be ready for W&B by the time I get the engine back. Hoping for first flight later this summer.

Bill -

Why the crank inspection? Did I miss something?
