Will be mounted on the control torque tube tunnel cover facing aft about even with the seat back rests. The idea being that will keep headset cords out of the way. Ideally, would have like to mount them overhead, just couldn't figure out how to do it cleanly?

Dan, I suspect this is what you meant?  This was my first thoughts on how I might do it anyway...

Dan,  thanks for suggestion, always appreciate someone else checking on my work and offering improvements and varying perspective.  I did indeed plan on sinking that console into the tunnel.  The plugs are more difficult to insert and remove if you use it as a "dust pan" versus a "bump out".  At first I didn't think they would even fit - that was a critique on the ACS website regarding this product, but thought I would order it and try it anyway.  Anyhow, it would have made for a much more appealing (neater) installation they way you suggest, but I am a bit too far down the path I've gone with it to change up...that is, I've cut a hole in the baggage tunnel to accommodate my jacks passing thru to underneath the console.  In retrospect, as the owner of the aircraft, I probably wouldn't be plugging and unplugging headsets very often anyway, and could have "lived" with the issue involved with mounting differently than I have done.  Live and learn!!  Again, thanks for the suggestion..keep 'em coming!

David, could I suggest that you reverse the location of the plugs and inset the tray into the cover?

More protection for the plugs from whatever you may have in the back.

Just a thought.
