Drill 3/16th hole thru the lock striker and thru canopy frame directly below the latch mechanism while locked. Do not drill thru the latch mechanism. The pin will prevent the locked latch (Bear Claw)from operating and prevent the canopy from opening.

Hi John,

I have a CH601XL. The canopy has opened twice during flight. I am intrigued by your pin solution to the canopy opening problem. Please provide more details on this mechanism. I would very much like to install one on my plane. Thanks!
