Congradulations clearly a lot of hard work paid off ... I am very curious about the performance , when you get a chance if you can share the numbers it would be great

Thanks

Kevin

Congrats! Beautiful bird. You answered the questions that popped into my head when I saw the photo on Facebook. A 701 Cruzer. Awesome. :)

Thank you for all the great comments.  Yes this is not your stock 701 build. First let me say that Zenith makes an outstanding aircraft and one would be smart to build it per the plans. I have built 4 planes and this 701 is an experiment of some early ideas myself and a few other builder on this site had back in the days just as the 750 was starting to evolve. Call this a 701 cruiser. I've been asked about the SPX donation. When the 701 went to 1100 pounds GW the modifications needed to bring it to the new higher GW was called the SP mods. I call mine the SPX because of the few modifications I've done past a standard build. I've added one additional bay to each wing, added a droop nose rib, removed the slats, installed a symmetrical horizontal tail and divorced the elevator control from the aileron control tube. It is definitely a one off build. I hope to have my first flight sometime later this month. Wish me luck and keep building.

Congratulations, a lot of work comes to fruition.  Custom wings and hard to tell but looks like a modified stabilizer setup too?
