Just mounted a Honda Viking onto a 601XLB. Does anyone have ideas on placement of the fuel injection pumps other than inside the cockpit.  I am thinking the left firewall with a protective shield.

Hey guys thanks for the input on the tail heavy now to add a little water to the mix
Plane flies nose up got a fast airspeed bleed off when ya pull back on the throttle not a typical glide
Down elevator to fly level
Any one think I got negative pitch on the stab
I didn't build this one just tryin to work out the bugs
Being sedative on the elevator says tail heavy but the scales say NO

Many of you probably saw the announcement from EAA in the various e-newsletters, but now that I am officially on-site at EAA, I wanted to post a quick intro to the Zenith Forums...

Chad Jensen, EAA #755575, and I have built, flown, and now sold my Van's RV-7. This summer I started work on a new project, a Wittman Tailwind! I also owned part of a Thatcher CX-4 project for a short while. My online focus for several years was the Van's community through several online forums that catered to the type. In my new role at EAA, I will be expanding my presence to as many type forums as I can, and is the reason I am now here!

I have several friends building Zenith airplanes (a 640 just completed, and a couple of 701's), and I look forward to meeting as many builders as I can!

Also, if you haven't already done so, check out our EAA Homebuilders Headquarters page on Facebook!

I am here to serve the needs of the Homebuilders Community, and I look forward to hearing from you! Drop me a line here or via email at cjensen@eaa.org

I have lost my plans for a CH300 over the years.. My CH 300 is still flting after 27 years.  I still have the book of mods for the CH300.  I should have the plans for the CH200 to keep the thing complete.

John, I would not put any oil on the aluminum until I had finished the plane. Reason: If you plan on painting the plane the oil will have a way of finding it's way to the outer surface which will create a big problem. After your finished totally with the plane including painting you might spray 'Corrision X' in the inner panels. The way most builders deal with the corrosion problem is the use a self etching primer available at  NAPA and other auto supply stores. Good Luck!

I am building a CH750.  For corrosion protection I am considering oil spraying.  I would be interested in any comments.

I spent today instead of going to a rainy Mardi Gras, drawing of the .025 parts in Autocad. After looking at these drawings. I am only drawing irregular shaped pieces for watercutting. If it is retangular I would rather save a buck and scribe cut it. It will cut the watercutting task/bill down to a min. In time, I will post a pdf file of what I come up with along with my estimate to have it cut. Productive day off at the laptop.

WORK TABLE QUESTIONS

Ok I am just starting out and I built a pair of table frames approx 3x7 to support 2 4x8 shts of MDF plywood. My metal shop leaks occasionally under heavy rain. I want to waterproof the MDF and was wondering would it have any negative effects upon the alum if I painted the mdf? Sounds trivial and silly but I have been fooled before on similar issues in the past. Doesn't hurt to ask. I welcome any comments and suggestions. It is also quite a puzzel getting two tabletops to be in the same plane for fabrication.I plan on using leveling bolts in the legs.
