Hello everyone,

I am trying to find information regarding the ol “3-wheel” design zenair floats with retracting nose gear. I can’t seem to find any information anywhere concerning its specs, more specifically the weight of the floats and wheels.

I have a ch601 on zenair 1150 straight floats and if i was to modify them to amphibian, using the current zenair amphibious float design (4 wheel), it would add about 40 lbs per float. I am wondering if the old 3 wheel variant was lighter or heavier, and if it had any advantage (handling wise) over the new “4-wheel” amphibious float design.

Thank you everyone for your answers in advance!
