I sent a request for info on part problem to tech support on the builders website, never received an answer, so figured the email wasn't working. so Ill repost here and see what happens.

I sent an email via the tech support on Zenith website and never got an answer so not sure that function is working. concerns CH701 SN6213
My question concerns 7V6-2SP, the wingtip part on the left wing that is cut at a 45 deg angle with the top of that part measuring from the rib 448mm, as supplied in the kit. It appears to be too long. The blueprint says 425mm. Having already installed the skin, do I need to remove the rivets and cut the part down?
Thanks

If I recall correctly this is one of those parts you have to do a triple take on to ensure you cut it to the right length also you just don't want to bandsaw it off as I believe you will end up trimming one of the flanges to short. Drilling out rivets is no problem, same size drill, until the head comes off. Automatic punch to drive the rivet out. Sorry, I don't have access to the wings at the moment to send you a picture or two.

Hi Collin,it say's on the drawing to trim web at 45',so just mark a line from top skin down to bottom skin on the channel that's to long and cut with snips and clean up with a file.thats unless you want to drill the rivets out..regards

Sorry, Collin. My late response.

Did you mean that after wing skin installation, or preparing for installation, you found the wing rear channel 7V6-2SP tip protruding beyond the wing skin(s)?

If so, you can just trim it 45 degree to fit between the wing top and bottom skins to clear the wing tip sheet 7V9-1. The length at the top of this rear channel should be 425mm or close to. But the length will be alright as long as it's not in the way of the wing tip sheet.

Enjoy the build,

Champ
