Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Hi, All;
This is on a Cruzer, but is the same for STOL, so I'm on the open forum.
OK; I've completed all of the initial fit / disassemble / reassemble / rivet / re-mate steps and am ready to final-rivet the fore and aft fuselage 1/2s.
Jon Croke on HbH showed how he overlapped the forward fuselage side skin over the gusset I'm showing below. Stock plans, and my initial-just-to-get-it-stabilized install shown below has the triangular gusset overlapping the forward skin.
I noticed during trial fit that with the gusset as installed, there is a gap between the landing gear weldment and the fwd fuse skin, if only because of the gusset thickness.
So: How'd you do it? Do you wish you did it opposite from what you *did* do? I just thought that Jon's arrangement just looked odd with the skin over just the leading edge of that gusset, so I'm inclined to leave it as per plans. But I hate that gap as well....
