•Aircraft: Zenith STOL Ch 750
Engine: Viking 130 HP
•Whirlwind 68” Prop -pitch = 22 degrees
•OAT: 81 degrees
•Humidity = 55%
•Field elevation: 420 MSL
•Altimeter setting 30.02
•Before flight we topped both tanks to bottom of fill neck
•Take off and climb from 420 MSl to 1500 MSL
•RPM after level off = 4600
•IAS =85 MPH
•Coolant temp = 196 degrees
• Oil Temp =148 degrees
•Total flight time including taxi, take off, climb, cruise and descent and taxi back to hangar = 7/10 hour
• Topped tanks to same level as before flight.
•Total fuel burned = 1.48 gallons on fuel truck meter
• Average fuel burn = 2.11 GPH

There was a joke before about Jerry's exceptionally low fuel burn numbers. So he did it again in order to further convince those using more fuel with their engines, that with a direct injected engine, it is in fact possible. THERE IS NO WAY, A TRADITIONAL AIRCRAFT ENGINE COULD OPERATE FOR 42 MINUTES ON SLIGHTLY OVER 2 GALLONS - INCLUDING ALL GROUND OPS, CLIMB AND LCAL OPERATIONS

Jerry has a beautiful aircraft.  Once he installs a fuel flow meter he'll get a better idea of actual fuel consumption in flight, but his numbers are not far from our 2.4 gph at 50 kts.
