It is a ways off, but I plan to attend the Pietenpol flyin the weekend before Oshkosh, Brodhead WI and then drive up to Airventure for at least one day. We have a small summer home In Kenosha County WI about 2.5 hour drive from Oshkosh. I really need to see first hand the EFIS and AHRS, and the transponder requirement being used in various planes so I have a better idea for my panel. That could end up costing more than the plane.

Typically, there is a Zenith Builders and Flyers banquet at the Elk's Club on Thursday night that is organized by Joe Scheibinger. Hopefully, he will do this again this year and well in-advance, he posts an announcement with the details on the Forums.

ZAC also usually presents some seminars during AirVenture.

My wife and I are considering flying our 2 year old 650 into Oshkosh this year as well. We are in eastern Nebraska and have 170 hours on N650SJ.

I trust the airplane more than I trust my 2 years of piloting.

Working already on route, fuel and landing NOTAMs by planning route and looking at last year's publications.

My experience by driving and then watching landings is arrive on Saturday as Sunday is super busy (crazy).

My wife and I are considering making the trip from northern California in our recently.completed 601. I have never been before and am curious about all of the details. I too would love to meet up with other 601/650 builders.
