HI All,

I just had a new sprag clutch installed on my 912 ULS, re installed the engine and found that it is very hard to hand prop compared to before the  new sprag clutch was installed. Is this normal that a new sprag would make it so much harder to hand prop ? I mean its like twice as hard as when the old clutch was in. Any comments I would really appreciate, I am wondering if things may not have been installed right. Thanks for any opinions and help. Ron J.

Ron,

Did you check the friction torque. Maintenance manual 12-20-00, section 14.1 ???? (Part of 100 Hr. check). If you don't have the manuals they are free for download at the Rotax site. There is a good video on this check at the Rotax-Owner.com  web site. (You need to be a member to watch the video).

You could also call Dean Vogel at Lockwood (863 655 7373) or email him at "dean at lockwood dot aero" and ask him about your concern.
