As it is, the throttle knob (in the cockpit) has a travel of ~3", while at the carb, the throttle arm moves ~1".

If I were to install the arm extender, the throttle knob travel would change to over 6".

(But since the cross shaft can't rotate that much, the throttle travel would be reduced to 50%.)

I don't see what dual throttles has to do with it. Doesn't the extension go on the carb where there's only one cable?

And yes, you can use extra washers.

Thanks for the comments, John

I looked at my setup: the throttle travel (in the cockpit) is 10 cm / 4", while on the carb it is 1.25".

In conclusion, I don't think I can use the arm extension approach. Adding washers seems to be the best approach, so far.

I have a Gen 4 on a STOL CH750 and with the throttle extension (from the Arion Aircraft Firewall Forward Package) it does not interfere and the throttle has normal travel for an aircraft throttle. You will however need an additional idle stop. The extra leverage is too much for the idle tab on the carburetor. NAPA has cable stops that will do the trick. You just need one set on the cable so the stop hits the cable jacket at idle speed.

Hello, John

No, I don't have the extension, but it did cross my mind.

However, I suspect the geometry of my installation would not allow for full throttle travel.

But I'll take a closer look.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Cheers

Do you have a throttle extension arm on the Bing? That should give you the clearance and provide a longer throttle throw, making finer throttle adjustments easier. You can get one from Arion Aircraft.
