Hello Fellow Builders,
I incorrectly drilled the first hole #40 through the nose elevator skin when mounting..then realizing it was misaligned. I made the correction, Now I have all other holes correct but this one skin-to-spar hole about 50% off, 2mm. How do I fix this? I don't know if up drill to #20 would be enough..should I put a small metal patch under the spar? Suggestions?
Thanks, Aaron

You may be able to enlarge to a #30 and use A4 rivet to just fill the hole when all is connected. Add 2 additional proper size rivets (one on each side) equal distance between the holes lined up correctly for strength. If I understand you correctly, that may work.

HI Aaron,

Enlarge hole to next rivet size and rivet in (A4 to A5).

Either that or put the 2 piece together drill the hole thru and use the same rivet size as intended.

One rivet wrong wont make a difference and will still be STRONG enough.

Will not be seen since the wrong part is sandwiched between skins.

Dont sweat the small stuff.

Regards,

Norm

Thank you gentlemen, I will probably run a few extra rivets to secure the rib area after adding a small patch under the spar. Happy building!
