<p>If the flap gear box you're referencing is the same thing as the flap linear actuator on my 750 STOL (Thomson "Electrak 050" linear motor #DE12-17W41), the manufacturer's spec sheet says it is maintenance-free and has an estimated life of a minimum 40,000 cycles.</p>
