I purchased (and then Sold) the factory cowling for my 601XLB /was not happy with the apparent drag and finish. I have tried fitting various nose cowls with similar disappointment. I would rather skip the time and effort of making a plug-mold then cowl that is a cleaner fit. I am also going to run a pressure plenum to clean up the airflow as well. There are a couple of finished 650's that are Lycoming powered on YouTube (Theo Potgeiter and Manie Rossouw) that have 2 piece with round air intakes that look very nice but I have not been able to get in contact with them to ask where they came from. It almost looks like the UL260 factory cowl but I'm not certain. If any one has information on this / I would appreciate it.

Thanks Mike Mccurdy
