Has anyone installed a BRS parachute on their 750 or 701? If so where is it mounted, and what type is it, canister or softpack? Thanks for reading.

I have seen pictures of both soft pack lying flat on top of baggage hold and canister vertically inside the baggage hold. I have to look for pictures for you.
This is the suggestion in 2002, as a starter. You should contact BRS for the most current one. I can not find the soft pack photo showing a flat box covering it on top of the fuselage.

My old 701 seemed to be prepared for BRS, and these pages came with all the documents the previous owner handed to me.

Be safe and have a nice flight.

I plan on installing the brs system during my build as well and would like more info about it to.
Thank you Champ! That's great info!
Hi,

This picture shows two inverted u-shaped steel welded to the top of the forward cabin frame.

I suppose these U's are meant for attaching the front harnesses of a BRS. From these U's, the front harness each goes back to a hole behind rear wing attachment and goes down the hole to the baggage compartment (for the upright canister installation). Part of the harnesses over the cockpit should have some protection against UV. On deployment of the BRS, the parachute canopy and lines will be shot up through a plastic cover of the hole above, the four risers/harnesses will be stretched and pull/break open the (plastic ?) top of the luggage compartment. This is the safest way for emergency descent from a safe altitude to a flat field or desert, with no high voltage power line or strong rapid in vicinity.

My cockpit has been waiting for a new plastic top and windshield for some months. A bubble windshield is nice-looking and strong, but also 4 lbs. heavier than a Lexan sheet. A tough decision at old age.

Nave a nice day.
