I was not happy with the instructions that came with the sending unit ring in that it gave a very small area to seal with, so I did something different:

I cut a slot in the ring so that it could be put through an opening the size of the inner hole of the rubber gasket.

Start one of the short screws to keep from dropping it, then use the long screw to get the float assembly started, then remove your helper screw.

This gives the whole gasket area room to seal, instead of just a tiny lip.

Yeah that was my biggest concern with the pro-seal. I imagine that it would be a bugger to get the sender off if it were to fail. I followed Marks journey with his senders and now wish that I had installed them on the top as well but I was perhaps a little too trusting of the original design. I did use John C’s split ring method for a far better surface area on the gasket but...decisions decisions.

What does this ProSeal look like? Anyone have a picture of it??

Look further up in this thread. You can see where Don Morrisey used it on his top mounted senders. Its like peanut butter going on but hardens like steel.

Hey John C. How have your senders been performing? Any issues with leaks, readings? I used your split ring method for the install but am still a little leery on the long term for leaks.
