I'm planning the purchase parts for my panel. It will have the Dynon D180, Garmin 320 xpndr, Icom radio, a power panel, throttle carbheat and mix controls for a Continental O-200 and trim and flap controls which come with the Ch750 kit.

It's simple and similar to this panel, but without the GPS (will be added later) and with a different radio.



My questions are:

If the radio advertises basic 2-person intercom, do you still need an auto panel? I'm not planning on listening to mp3 music as of yet. Squelch is included in the A210 radio.

"Approach Fast Stack"  harness and hub is also included in this list. I thought this was used for more complex stacks such as KX155. Dynon includes the encoder for the transponder, why else would this hub and harness be needed?

Beside this list, is anything else needed to complete the panel? I'm hoping not to miss items which especially have long lead times from this BOM. The aircraft is a Zenith CH750 and it will be flown VFR in Canada. However this probably applies to any Zenith aircraft in the US as well.

The ICOM A210 has the intercom built in. No other audio panel is required for 2 person communication. Don't know about the MP3 stuff...not interested in it. If your not into wiring 22 guage angel hair wire ( I was'nt) Mark Townsend can build your panel cheaper than the "glass panel" offered by Zenith factory. Since you live about a hour away from Can-Zac this might be of interest to you.
Thanks for the ideas. I'm glad I don't need the expensive "Approach Fast Stack" or something else big and unforeseen. I don't mind wiring gauge 22 or 24, I've built DB-25 cables and have soldered circuit boards, but I still want to make sure this is done correctly.

Depending on stock prices, I MIGHT add a GPS or replace the radio with an SL-30, the master switch was for the flexibility. I've seen others make their own circuit breaker switching sets and make it look neat. I'll look into that.The one change I want to make that I haven't seen anyone else make is that I'd run a headset extension cable from the Icom through the center channel and have two female headset plugs in the space between seat backs. I hate having headset cables go over or under my arms. This was one of my first ideas before I purchased the kit so I'll find a way to make that work. It means I dont need headset plugs on the front panel either.
