Hi everyone,

Thinking ahead to weight and balance for our 750 Cruzer. Project is still in my garage without wings, but this Covid quarantine has me with a good amount of free time.

I ordered 3 digital scales from Amazon for about $12 each. They seem accurate enough. My wife and I weighed about a dozen times or so on each scale and the variance was less than 3 tenths on each scale. After we popped a couple of Prozac to squelch the depression after our weigh-in, I set about to attempt a weigh-in of the airplane.

I quickly discovered that the scales were a bit too high to roll the tires up on. The scales would just "pop-a-wheelie" and back away from the tires.

So after some thought, I created 3 ramps using 3/16 luan plywood from the crate our engine came in.

Each ramp consists of 4 pieces: 16" x 12", 12" x 12", 8" x 12", 4" x 12". Apply wood glue liberally, clamp together.

They were made quickly and are not pretty, but they do the job well. The only the drawback is the scales tend to shutoff rather quickly after pushing the airplane on them, which leaves to scramble to take pics of the readings before they disappear.

I hope this helps someone that's ready for their weight n balance.

PS: Our plane weighs 526 lbs at this point, no wings, fluids, cooling system, exhaust and avionics.
