I live close to Katy. What would you like to know?

I don't have a lot of time flying into class B airspace. What would be a nice comfortable airfield within fairly close distance to Katy. I want to visit my grandkids there on week end trips so I would need a car rental, and fuel 100LL for the plane. If I can stay away from major airports that would be great. Looks like about a five hour flight time for the XL, but would need a fuel stop along the way, maybe Texarkana. I only have the 12 gallon tanks and I'm still calculating my fuel burn with my 0-235

Thanks

Gil

For rental car service and fuel I'd suggest Houston Executive. It is the closest. It is a controlled tower Class D just to the west north west of Katy, but they are very easy to communicate with and it keeps you out of the dense urban areas. There are many other options as well, but to keep it simple I think this one would be the best for you.

You might try here:

http://www.airnav.com/airport/1XA7

It's a private airport, has fuel and ultralight manufacturing as well as an A&P.

Nice folks run the place.

About 15 miles to Katy.
