After a few years of thinking about it, I finally got around to adding a wig-wag circuit to my landing and taxi lights.  I had the Bob Nuckolls wig-wag article lying around the hanger for some time now, but just never seemed to get around to buying the few items needed to install it.  The previous weekend's flights found me in some busy airports where see and avoid was brought to the forefront so I decided some more visibility on my part should become a higher priority.  I dusted off the Nuckolls article and hit the B&C website (http://www.bandc.biz/index.aspx).  The parts count is pretty low.  One SSF-1 relay, one S700-2-3 DPDT switch a few feet of wire and some fast-on tab connectors (around $25 bucks).  The actual installation only took about an hour.  Regular operation of the lights is unchanged when the wig-wag switch is set to off.  When wig-wag is on, the landing/taxi light switch is out of the loop.

Here is the new wig-wag switch and the new hole drilled into the panel (yet to be labled).  The relay, on left, gets mounted out of the way behind the panel. I had to make 5 wires, totaling about 4 feet in length.

On the 1 to 10 complexity scale, this one was about a 2.  Pretty easy.
