I've read here a number of times people asking how they can jack up their airplane to change tires or brakes. I've found a jack that works great!

Hi Mark, great research and workmanship, as usual.

I've experienced 2 punctures at almost deserted bush strips and I was by myself.  It's impossible to lift a Zenith and stick a prop under by yourself.  After scrabbling around for a car jack, this was how I got out of it - not satisfactory:

A carry on-board jacking solution + spare tube/puncture repair kit is now part of my baggage.  Here's the lightest (350gm) jack design that I came up with - strictly for emergency use.  A few other photos are in the pdf link here.

Thanks for all your posts, regards John:

Emergency use Cruzer Jack

Wow that is an awesome little jack! I suppose for the back country that would be a necessary thing to carry. Very creative! Thanks for sharing that-I may have to build something like that.

Very innovative. And hmm, I wonder if it could be built to also serve as a wheel chock?

I love creative utility......and that is just beautiful. Well done.
