Anyone flying with the Hudly or any other HUD? I am imagining significant advantages here for 300 bucks.  Most important is the ability to stay eyes out on final. I did some snooping around online and only the Hudly can project whatever app you have on your phone. It appears GRT developed an app just for the Hudly but I could use any one of the aviation apps on my phone now, such as my FlyGo Nav or Airspeed apps.

Bringing this up again - looking again at doing it myself. My only real concern is mounting geometry and projector annoyance factor with the bubble canopy on the 650.

Anyone?

Thanks - Jim

I’m intrigued by this eyeglass projected HUD designed to be compatible with a bicycle helmet, which has no integral noise protection as we require.  I’m wondering if there’s a way to integrate the arms of these glasses with a typical GA headset.  This would eliminate the projection problems and instrument panel top/field of view clutter inherent with existing HUDs.

Looks pretty cool. How about this one

GRT has a good recommendation for the other Hudway product but this looks cool. I actually found one listed for sale for $380. It's too new/iffy for me though. I like playing with new stuff but I don't want to potentially waste that much money if it's not compatible.

That is cool. One thing about these HUDs though is the speed projection will always be GPS based so it’s ground speed, and what I would really want a HUD for is airspeed on short final, or better yet, AoA indication.  To me the ideal display in my eye is an AoA indication wirelessly cast to my HUD from an AoA system installed on my plane, and the height above ground call out in my headset provided by this https://www.enginebridge.com/product/landing-height-controller-copy/. That would be darned handy on short final into a confined area.

That’s a really intriguing option, I bet John Marzulli could chime in on integrating an AOA and other desired info onto that hudway sight.
