Ok, plans call for rear fuselage L channel to be 20mmx20mm, by my calculations 20mm comes out to be .78 inches(rounded off) so the question is can I use 3/4” (.75) or do I step up to 1”?

Robert,

Since this is the Open Forum and not one of the Type-Specific Forums, it would be helpful if you would mention which model of Zenith aircraft you're building.

N750A

Sorry, forgot to mention I’m working on the 701.

From your dimensions I assume you are refering to the rear fusilage longerons? If so that is formed .040 and not extruded "L" angle. Dan.

Guess I should start providing more info. Sorry.
The parts list for the rear Fuselage Hardware calls for quality 25 part number L.
Description shows 20x20 4’ L

Ok, sounds like the standard  formed "L" angle used throughout the build 4' lengths My plans show the dimensions as 19X19 (probably changed on later plans) developed length is 36 and .025 thicknesson on my plans they are shown on 7G2 and the total build calls for a quantiy of 38. I believe the only part of the aircraft that uses any quantity of extruded angle is the forward fus and the plans call for 3/4" 6061 in .093 thickness (proprietary to Zenith .125 is the standard substitute) Dan.
