Due to a difference in the brake mounting plate, ZAC sent me replacement plates.

Upon assembly, I noticed that there is a lot of play in the new plates.

I don't think that should be an issue.

Yes, that's exactly it. I thought of your solution, but I don't have the tools to make a new spacer.

You need that play, it lets the brake calipers “float”. If there too tight it’ll bind an the pads will wear funny or the brakes won’t work at all

the video shows that there is a huge difference in the range of play, comparing the old and new plates... I am concerned that the "new" plate has excessive play.
