I'm having to part out my 2014 701.  FWF is already gone.  Anything you need at half price or less.  No accident, just family issues, moving, and not willing to take on any liability in retirement.

Doug,

I managed to crack my 701 windscreen at the upper starboard corner (~1.5" length) fighting the installation of the folding wing mechanism.  I started searching replacements or repair and found the folks that manufacture the windscreen for Zenith.  http://www.lpaero.com/careins.html

I called them and they were most helpful in finding a solution for me to repair the crack.  Lots of good info on the website too.  Since the location of my crack would not impair my visibility to any great extent, I drilled a small hole at the end of the crack to stop any further lengthening and made the repair as they described.  It works well.

I can't remember what the costs were but they did offer to send me a CH-701 replacement at a good price if the repair was not acceptable.

Thanks Kurt, I'll check with them.  I'm afraid my crack is about 8 inches long, down into the field of view.  It already had a 1" crack when I installed it, but when I was removing it for a "Beanie Mod" I pulled too hard and it went "POP!", and the rest is history!

This one has a very small crack on the upper left corner tab which was stopped and glued. The field of vision is perfect,  if you are interested.

Roger

Yes, I'm interested.

How much would you sell it for? Also can you send me a picture of the crack to musketeerflyer@gmail.com

Doug

Here's a pic of the crack.  I'd like 175 plus shipping.  I'm in central California if pick up would be possible

Sounds good Roger.  I sent you a message.

Roger...  I have an older slab gear 701.  I am interested in the entire gear change out (including nose gear, bushings, rudder pedals, brake cylinders, etc.)  If you haven't found a buyer, let me know.  Hopefully, we can make some kind of deal.  Wish you weren't in California. Cliff

Well we wish we weren't here either, but we will be moving to North Texas sometime within the next 6-8 months.  I don't have any hard commitments on the gear yet.

Roger

Let me be the first to welcome you to Texas.  We lived in the Dallas area all our productive lives.  We retired down to Central Texas but we get up there quite often to visit family and friends.  Keep me in mind if you find yourself bringing airplane parts with you.  Thanks,  Cliff

Roger,

I'm in Wylie a NE suburb of Dallas.  I just moved my 701 project to a local boatyard (outgrew my garage and no hangar space available in north Texas) for rigging.  Check in with me at any time.

Roger...  You are now in Wylie.  Is the plane in Calif. or Tex. now?  You mentioned boatyard but it wasn't clear where...  If in Tex. I could make you an offer and make the trek to Dallas with a friend's trailer.  Thanks!  Cliff
