Don,   I have questions regarding your straight stick set up.   Messages don't seem to get to me on this forum lately not sure why.  Can you email me please at charosenz@msn.com.   Thanks.   Charlie Rosenzweig Magnolia KY.

Thanks Don.  Hope you get done sooner than a year.  Cheers...

Hi Don,

sorry I missed your question earlier.  Yes, the idea is to tap the lower tube, and screw through the edge of the shelf and the bottom edge of the instrument panel.  If I need to get at the components, I back out 16(?) screws, and pivot the shelves down to where I can see what I'm doing ;)

Don:

Your rudder bearings are a terrific idea.Subconsciously I thought that the Zenith arrangement was not very good but did not have the presence of mind to create a fix. Including the Mc Masters Carr is icing on the cake.

Many Thanks.

Don,

Here's a picture of one of my rotors. I also used a right angle die grinder with a scotch bright pad to remove anodizing from the friction surface. If I were to do this again I would use a smaller bit and more hole's.

Thanks Don, I am on the edge of getting my air worthiness done. Yes, I was drafted August of 1967 after jump school I went to RVN ended up in Co F 51Inf. long Range Patrol. How is your build going? If you have any questions, I might be able to help.

Donald,

Happy to talk about the Lycon pistons.  Not sure I will be able to off too much real world experience as the airplane is soooo close but not quite flying yet.

Hi Donald,
The design of the ribs/wing will get you over 100mph... The engine will pull the weight of the plane over the threshold. Bob McDonald flew the Ch750 with a 912ULS close to 100mph. The cleaner Cruzer with the 912uls should get you over the 100mph.
Also, the more power available, the faster you can go IF the wing platform will permit it.
Regard,
Norm

Hello Donald,

Pleasure to hear from you. If you built a Caddy then you know what to expect. The Cruzer is much bigger than the 701 and same as the 750 except for the speed wing and struts.

If I had to build another Zenith, I would go Cruzer, VGs on stab and wing and Bush Tires. Welcome to the gang. Do not hesitate to ask away ...

Hello Donald,
Thanks for the kind comments. I took the time to visit your N2C site and read up on your background. It was all pretty interesting, and with that experience you would have no problem building the 750 rather quickly in my opinion. I like the idea of a hybrid cruzer/stol as well.
Take care -

Hiya Donald -

Tks for the reply to my header tank query.   Well, the engine and related accessories are well in my future, but I want to be proactive about things, so sometimes jump in w/o actually being in process of that step of building.

I've done some research on engines, and have reached a 90% decision that the ULPower 350iS  is the perfect engine for my needs.  One very useful attribute is that it can take up to 15% ethanol, which I think ( for better or not) is being a fact.

I've been in contact with Michael Norton, who is flying a 750 w/ that engine, and he loves it. I can put you two in touch if you've not already contacted him.

I'll pull the decision trigger probably May.

Regards,

Steve
