Kevin, I would assume you would polish first. I was talking to Tommy from Al and he comment on his 701 that he is building now he polished it and said he would not do that again. Check with Mark T. at Can-Zac as he had a polished 701 with yellow and black hightlights in his shop getting some repairs done to it. It looked nice but you would allways be polishing instead of flying, my 2 cents.

Pat.
I think Mark uses decals? Not to worry about always polishing, once or twice a year, just like washing my truck ;^)
I does seam that you would have to polish and then mask and etch area to be painted. But how do you keep from polishing the paint off. I assume that the subsequent polishings are using a much finer grit then the original ones, so maybe this is my answer?

Kevin
My 601XL is polished. Lots of work, but I still like it and it attracts a lot of attention. You can polish near the paint, and vinyl graphics too, without harming them. Just mask the painted areas when you are doing the initial polishing, because you will doing it many times over to get a bright shine. Don't bother masking if you are just doing your once-in-a-while touch-up polish.
Thanks David,
That is what I was thinking, but hoping against ;^)
But like I said it will probably only get it once in awhile and get covered against droppings.

Kevin, Im planning the same paint / polish job on my 701. Actually i have allready polished my wingskin, before i riveted them. (on a flat table i can use force) Do you know ho to perform the polishin job? (step by step)
Im using a duo polishing tool, whith maybee a bad pad, Im not feeling that im doing it rigth...Have you seen any article about this ?
I don't have anything but an article from the Nov 2007 issue of Kitplanes titled Polish your Plane not paint it.

Kevin
I will check it, and also search the net for articl. (will inform you )
There is a "how to do" instruction on the Nuvite polish homesite! The Nuvite system is the most expensive system (polish) when thinking $ to pound!!
Thanks for the article and I apologize for very my late reply.
