Hello All,

Went flying in my 601XL yesterday for the first time since getting it back together after paint.

Previous to having it painted I was experiencing some oil pressure fluctuations on the Dynon. I assumed that this was due to having used a prefabricated oil pressure line which was too long and I had to put a "service loop" in it to make it fit.  One of the slight modifications i made after paint was to get the appropriately short oil pressure sensor line installed.

First flight of the morning went well-there was some minor oil pressure fluctuations (~43-47 psi @ ~75% power) we came back, landed but when I went to start for the second flight, I got no pressure at all and after 10 seconds, I shut it down.  I started the engine again after waiting ~ 30 minutes witth the same results.  I checked the oil quantity-unchanged from the mornings preflight, no smudges on the belly.

The engine has 10 hours SMOH.

Either there truly is a problem with oil pressure or it's an indicator problem.  I did not have enough time to complete troubleshoot it while at the airport, but I'm just trying to think this through for the "usual" suspects.

I plan to get a direct read gauge and use that to determine if the Dynon pressure sensor went bad or if it's on the engine side.

Has anyone else had these issues with the  Dynon Sensors? what about other Lycoming owners?

Your Thoughts?

Hey Brad
In the off chance you hadn't thought of it - there are quite a few threads on Lycoming engine with Dynon systems and oil pressure fluctuations over on the Vans RV forum.

That seems to be s better source in general for all mx issues that are Lycoming related.

Hope you get it figured out!
Gary
