Has anyone found a good, reasonably priced angle drill? I can see where one might be very handy. I ordered one sight unseen from Amazon and when it arrived it was nearly as big as my regular drill, so I am returning it.

The Homebuilt Help DVD recommended some foot long drill bits for places where the drill all not reach. Does anyone have experience with these? Are they all you need? Or should I keep looking for an angle drill?

I would go with the one from the yardstore.  I bought one of the cheaper ones and it did not last.  Stripped the gears in it after about 2 months.  Have had the yardstore one ever since with no problems.  It has paid for itself many times over especially in frustration time.

Greg,

Finally bought a good angel drill should have don it at the start of the project sell it for half price when your dun, same with the foot long drill bits which I got at the start of the project they are real handy.

Bought a cheap rivet puller big mistake it misfires all the time ( its like shooting wit expired ammunition) with the A4 rivets (rivet stems bunches up).

think I bought mine from Avery tools. haven't looked back. no buyers remorse here. add a couple of screw in bits of each size. why compromise on a tool.

Yep, Avery Tools right across town in Ft. Worth (across town in Dallas is still 1.5 hrs and I'm in Wylie) .... $49  threaded bits are about $3 ea. However,  I can't find a #20, but the #19 is 0.005" oversize.

What 'yard store' are you guys talking about?

Here in Canada we have home depot, lowes, crappy tire, princess auto and none have angle attachments or threaded bits (except for some very big angle attachments). None of them have wire gauge drill bits either, I get mine from kbctools or brown tools online.

I bought a pancake attachment over a year ago from brown tools and have been using it very heavily. I bought the Tight-Spot angle and more threaded bits recently and am thinking the pneumatic version is likely justified. I think these parts should be listed in the tools recommendations when you buy the full kit, I dont think there are any alternatives for the pancake and 90 degree threaded attachments.

Ghazan...it is literally called the Yardstore...new and used aircraft tools:

I bought a used DotCo right angle drill on ebay for $75. Then I went to the yardstore.com and bought a bunch of threaded drill bits.
