Bill, I found the post. My email address is pa20.cfbia@gmail.com. I can now see the parts numbers that you used, thanks. I would sure appreciate pictures, when you have some time.
I am in the process of adding the extra fuel pumps under the seats, to prevent the air lock. I ordered the 40108 pump from aircraft spruce. What type of a connector did you use? Our aircraft just has rubber hoses running there, and I can't find a barbed connector to fit on those pumps. Any advice?
Thanks for the fast reply...makes perfect sense. I'll open the wings again and add another line from the front of the tanks, I can "tee" them right at the back of the tanks, I think....but it's worth the effort.
hello bill, i have a 801 completed in dec. im running a 0-360 as well and i share your pain with the peice of shit cowling. i made a mold and pulled one out of fiberglass and have put 60 plus hours now with clylinder head temps never over 350. also made it to fit a vans air box as i made the mistake of buying the air box from zenith. hell, the filter was for 100 hp cont. you might as well go with a 10 row oil cooler as oil temps are an issue unless it never gets over 80 deg where your at. anyway, everything working well now so i am in process of making one out of carbon fiber to shed weight as these planes are a bit nose heavy. i got 27 lbs in rear of fuse to improve handling in short field stuff
Bill, It seems you have a common problem with the cowling for the 801/640. I am finishing my 640, which is the same cowling and FWF as the 801, and I also had to open my blisters about and inch. I have also noticed that other 640 builders have had to do the same. I cut a 3 sided "flap" in my cowling to open it up. Then did quite a bit of glass work followed by some carbon fiber and kevlar on the inside for strength. I have some pictures I can send you if you are interested. Email at toothmaker1@gmail.com.

Good morning Bill,
Just curious what type of fitting you used from the flare fitting on the pump, to go the the 3/8" ID rubber hose barb fitting.
Regards.

Take good care.

Curious about the dual outlet from the fuel tanks to keep the engine fed during steep decents...how would you keep the "dry" hose from sucking air?
