I'm building an XL and would like to put a 110 or 120 hp Corvair in it.  I'm looking for all Firewall Forward components right now including an engine and engine mount, MA3-SPA carb, Cowling, intake and exhaust, etc.  Anything you've got, please let me know.

I've got a great core motor if your still looking.  It has all the right WW numbers and is complete minus carbs. It was also running when I got it.  I'm in SoCal, so it may be geographically undesirable for you. Let me know if your interested. Brad@ocbis.com.

Jon,

We have been making Corvair/Zenith parts since we first flew our own 601XL 10 years ago. Very little of the stuff we have actually made ever comes up for resale. Before looking at anything second hand, get a look at this story I wrote: Built
by William Wynne? Built according to The Manual?
. It highlights that less than 1/3 of the stuff that is resold as my product actually is. Most of it is a builders version or the work of one of the defunct LLC's that made copies of our stuff. Shop carefully, and you can always send me a picture and ask.

Also, keep in mind that we have several generations of parts. They all work, but the modern Gold anodized systems are lighter and more compact than the original Black systems. There are also two generations of 120hp engines. The 3100s came first, but the 3000s are a clean sheet approach to making an engine that works equally well on both 100LL and auto fuel. Get a look at this story for more details:3,000 vs 3,100 cc Corvair engines. The 110hp engine kits are the 2,850 cc engines and I doubt that you will find anyone willing to part with one. We made about 60 of them, and they are almost all in flying planes or running engines on 90% done planes.

The demographics of the pilot pool mean than many of the parts we sold will have longer aviation careers ahead of them than 1st owners will be flying. This is OK, if I made it, I will stand behind it no matter who owns it today. Some of the flying Corvair powered planes are on their second owner, and we are glad to work with them. However, we are pretty strict about not working on, offering advice about or having at our colleges, any of the parts that came from the bankrupt LLC

s that used to be around. If you need more input, privately email me your phone number and I will be glad to cover this at length on the phone any evening.

Thanks for the reply, William.  I've got your manual and have read it through at least twice, and have read that article as well (along with nearly every other one on the flycorvair.net website).  I plan on building to the specs in the manual, but was also hoping to get a bit of a jump start by picking up what I could from someone who perhaps started a project that they aren't going to finish...

William,

Can you please email me or give me a call.  Shoot me an email and I will send you my number.

I have lots of the parts you want. I bought an engine mount, top cover, sump, and oil and fuel pump adaptors from William Wynne at Oshkosh. I also have a good core engine with nitrided crank (already ground and miked), new bearings, pistons, rings, lifters, etc. The heads need to be completely serviced with vales and guides, but they are good cores. I also have boxes full of Corvair engine accessory parts you are welcome to have.

I paid William Wynne $2150. I'd be happy to see someone put it all to good use. $1500 for everything?

Phoenix AZ. My phone number and email are current in my profile.

Thanks for the info on the Corvair stuff. It sounds like a great deal and just was I was looking for. I actually was able to buy an engine just a couple of days ago off of a zenith 601HD that was being parted out. It should be a great starting point, although I would be interested in some of the WW accessories you purchased if you could give me a little more detail on what you've got. I'm particularly looking to upgrade the oil system on this engine.
Thanks,
Jon

I'm also interested in the parts you have please e-mail me at sasterling1023@yahoo.com or you can contact me on my page here thanks.

I have a cowling never installed, came with project I bought an I'm installing lycoming  275 dollars plus shipping
