I had my Zenith CH 750 inspected this past Saturday by Dale Gauger, (Delavan, WI) who is listed on the EAA DAR website. Dale came across to the western edge of Wisconsin to inspect my airplane. He was on time, very experienced, very professional, very thorough, very easy to work with, and friendly. I could not ask for a better experience. I highly recommend him to anybody. (And the plane passed!!)

Ready for first flight, now I just need some good weather....

Congratulations, looks good!

Congratulations! Huge milestone!
Way to go George... How soon must I get my paperwork sent in and filed before my plane is ready for inspection? I suspect I will be finishing by end of August...

Thanks everyone for the positive comments!

Rusty,

The EAA website has good info and links to the forms you need. The registration needs to be completed first - they say allow 90 days - only took two weeks for mine to come back. I selected a DAR and sent in the paperwork for the Special Airworthiness Certificate, took about two weeks, but it got lost in the mail, which took another 4 weeks to get it straightened out.I would select a DAR, talk to him/her 4 to 5 months before you think it will be ready. They will be able to provide direction with the paperwork.

Thanks Rick, I'll get on it right away. I bought the registration kit from EAA last year so hopefully I have everything. Have an exciting and safe testing/flying phase.

Great job, Rick! This is going to be fun!

By the way, my DAR, Gary Meuer from Tullahoma, Tennessee, was extremely helpful. He did most of the paperwork for the inspection rather than have me fill it out. So, I guess the tip to others is, find out exactly what your DAR will do and what he wants you to do.

Apparently, I had a major positive influence on my inspection ... Gary's wife. She tagged along with him for the inspection and is a pilot, too. In chatting, she learned that I was a retired OB/GYN. She carefully looked over the plane, walked up to Gary, her husband, and said, "After looking at this plane, I'd let him operate on me!" ... Inspection passed! LOL!

Lol!

Congrats!  Dale is an awesome guy...he has done two certifications for us already, and he will do our 750 also as it is completed.
