I got my Edition 3 plans and wing upgrade parts recently and noticed that the new wing root ribs need A6 rivets instead of the previous two A5 and a bolt. Unfortunately, Zenith didn't send me any A6 rivets but once they do, will I also need a special head in the rivet gun? Or can I use the A5 one ? I bought both my hand rivet gun from Zenith so the only heads I have are the ones that came with that.

Cheers

Paul

A5 head should work.

I just used my Zenith supplied pneumatic riveter with the supplied flat head (no dome). The riveter had no problem pulling the large A6s.

Thanks guys, sounds like when I get the rivets I might have what I need to pull them.
I used my Zenith supplied hand riveter on them last weekend without issue. Largest head. No dome.

As I recall, I purchased my A6 rivets from Spruce. The rivets already had a slightly domed/rounded head, but were flat in the central area. Like Brad, I used the steel hand-held Zenith riveter without a domed head on the riveter and it worked great.

Some of the big-box store's riveters have a cast metal head - those won't hold up long to A6's and especially stainless rivets. Don't ask how I know. HA!
