Just a note to be clear. This jig is only needed if you are scratchbuilding. The 650 kits are predrilled and the spacing will already be set.

The wing jig is needed to ensure that there is correct spacing between the center spar and the rear channel attachment to the fuselage. This would seem to be a rather important item to have around when scratch building a 650.

For some reason the wing spar jig drawing is not included in the current 650B plans. There are a few mentions of the jig in the cdrom, but no real details for construction are included. There is also very little information out there on it is construction. Below are a few pictures of the spar jig I constructed for my 650B project along with a video link that will hopefully help other builders in trying to figure out how to construct one. A video providing a few explanations can be found at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWRmEsoEkSE

If you want a copy of the spar jig plans you will need to ask for the drawing from the 601XL plans.

Hi Ronald,

I notice from your profile you are building from a kit. The kits are cnc cut and predrilled. So the spacing between the main spar and rear spar should already be set for you. However when scratchbuiding, like I am doing, I have to drill the holes myself. And before I do that I have to make sure the spacing between the main and rear channel are set properly.

Damon, I watched that video also and had questions.  I built my plane without the jig and everything matched up no problems.
