I didn't go with boots because I couldn't get anything to fit neatly.  I tried the jeep shifter boots but they didn't turn out very nice so I scrapped them.

What I ended up doing was making up a slide plate system similar to what is used on the 750.  I made up thin wall 4130 sleeves which I internally threaded and put on over the threaded nose wheel push rods so the outer surface was smooth.  I used jam nuts to hold the sleeves in place so they could not vibrate and jamb the mechanism.  The plates that cover the slots and the slides that hold them in place are made of the same material as the firewall.  The finished product does a pretty good job of sealing up the push rod slots and looks quite finished.

You can also make boots using some fiberglass and RTV. Honestly I never installed mine. There is enough draft in the cockpit that it is not a problem.... as proven with a CO monitor.

Ask that question under the forums....I remember seeing some posted pictures several months ago of exactly what you are looking for, but after a quick check I couldn't find them again.

You can use a rubber boot made for jeep shifters (requires little mod), or you can make a fireproof boot from the ACS fireproof shifter boot (requires more mod). Then make a base plate that holds it on and rivet it in place. I'll see if I can find the part numbers to post.... Look at my last couple of posts for pics (I ended up doing it both ways).
