Took the entire week-end to get this to fit right. Had to butcher the air intake inlet to get everything to fit properly. This thing does not fit very well without a lot of work! :( At least it's on now. Going to install aluminum trim inside with epoxy on the edges to reinforce them, but for now the worse is over! :D

Hi Mark,

I see you're getting REAL CLOSE to flying !!! Good work; the finishing touches are the MOST TIME CONSUMING activities. Done right, your plane plane will be a looker ! From 100 feet in the air, it really doesn't make a difference if you had to butcher part of your cowl !!! As long as it fits and not rub on anything. Leave good clearance all around.

Enjoy !

Regards,

Norm

I feel your pain.... The 701 cowl gave me fits on the oil cooler inlet, better to take ur time an get it right. Well done

No, that's why I had to hack up the air intake! :( But my CG is going to be real bad enough as it is with this engine, + my craziness in the panel so the last thing I need is to forward the prop any further. I have just over a 1/2" gap now at the top so it should be enough. My air intake actually sticks out a bit now from the bottom, but I'll clean up the edges with some rubber trim!
