Scary. I flew with my dad once into IMC. He wasn't rated for it. Glad you got out safe.

Hi T.Y.

Sharlene and I are so glad that this turned into a "non event"! Thank you so much for sharing this valuable experience. It is this type of information sharing that helps us all to grow (and stay alive) in this sport!

Look forward to seeing you soon

T.Y.

I am not saying anything you did not already know?

You said it yourself in your own comment's you could not get any weather brief (Local) and you should have turned around and gone home and came back when you were prepared and informed.

That is the only lesson to be learned here Old & New Pilots alike, what we have as Pilots is never to be taken for granted. No one is perfect and we all have made mistake's from time to time T.Y. I am sorry for stating a fact and I cannot be "Compassionate" as you say about something that will kill you. I have seen a Pilot/Friend die from this very situation. As I said before T.Y. I am so very happy that you made it down OK. Good luck to you in the future.

Dear Mark Moore:

Your comment: "you should not have got into that situation in the first place, Poor Pilot Flight preparation"

My response:: Resist the urge to blame. Check out the other comments. They were helpful, supportive, compassionate, and creatively admonished being careful out there..

Implication: Please consider that your comment may discourage others with similar experience from sharing

Conclusion: Thanks to everyone for your kind and supportive comments. .

I can see how that would be a little scary. Glad it ended uneventfully.

Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Only rode as a passenger in a Cruzer once, but I was really surprised at the rock-solid feel of it. You really appreciate having a great flying aircraft when something like this happens.

I had a similar experience this summer (in my 601), but smoke from wild fires was the issue. Moments like that make you appreciate synthetic vision. Never thought I would really need it - until I did. It can literally be a life-saver.

You did a great job keeping your attention on flying the airplane there is no way we can always know what weather awaits us, especially near bodies of water. Fantastic video, thanks for sharing this!
