Hi Pat, Great research! Several articles have mentioned the wing to fuselage intersection as the fuselage tapers inward. All aerodynamics seminars at OSH have stressed a large radius fillet between wing and fuse as being very important. I purchased a pair of fiberglass wing root fairings shown at the Sept. open hangar 2017 and they look like a good solution. Have yet to install and try them. I plan to install prior to my first flight. Best Regards,

Interesting test.  I would have thought that VG's that far forward would not have much effect past the wing center of pressure.  I don't have the Texas heat beating down on me like you do, but I feel my eyeball vents coming from the NACA scoops are very effective at blasting me with air.  My only problem is being able to reach the passenger side vent with my 5-point harness is a challenge when I am alone.  Sometimes it blasts me with too much air so I try to estimate a good angle and opening pre-flight and hope I don't need to touch it.  

Keep up the good work.  We learn on the shoulders of others.  

I'm taking an RV trip to New Mexico over the next few weeks.  If I find myself close to your new homestead, I may give you a buzz, if that's OK.
