Robert,

Ya, I might just have a firm layer of light foam affixed to the areas around the bolt slide grooves, so the actual removable cushion will float above it. Good observation, and thanks for the support and encouragement. I don't have the extra 2 or 3 inches of Ed. 2 & 3, ie Edition 1 cabin frame. So 1 reason I went this route was to keep the seat as close to the base as possible. I need to add cushion, so my first half or third of cushion could be affixed to the seat in a pattern that matches the slides, and the the last half be the normal seat cushion shape. Second to necessity, lack of fore site, is the the mother of invention. LOL

Hi John... You may want to consider a way to cover the bolts prior to installing any type of seating. Since the bolts move relative to any foam you may install, your going to tear your seats apart any time you adjust your seat. I watched the video, it is a good idea.

Good idea. I thought about one of those with the push buttons. I can probably get the right size that will pass by the existing threads, and not pull out. I might leave the threads just in case. Then attach as you suggested to a lanyard wired to keep it from ending up somewhere it shouldn't be.

Consider a quick release clevis pin with lanyard to hold the seat position instead of a bolt. Many different styles and lengths, plus the lanyard keeps the thing from disappearing on you: https://www.mcmaster.com/#quick-release-pins/=1bgb6p9
