Part of my problem is that I have Mexico 25 miles to the south, plus three large towns that the FSDO says I can't fly over. And then east I have a huge restricted area, and west I have the Salton Sea. So maybe I shouldn't have been surprised.
Anyway, we've agreed a 10 x 10 mile box that has a couple of airports in it, so I think it will be fine. And, I've still got to pass the inspection before I moan about the flying area.
Thanks for all the comments, interesting to see what other people got.
I asked for (and recieved) a test area outside of my home field area, which was under Class B. They gave me a "corridor", and then an irregular shaped region (which I'd specifically requested). Map of it is here: N63PZ Phase 1 Area
I would clarify that, since it is so restrictive, or are you in a highly congested area that would warrant that?
Barring that, any possibility of getting a different DAR?
Wow. I am in southeast Nebraska and my DAR outlined an area of about 30 by 75 miles.
Hi Daniel, I got a 50 sq mile area so basically a 10 mile by 5 mile box, not a 50 mile radius. Going to be very boring circles in that small area for 40 hours.
