Bob, yes almost every 912 owner I read says they literally bolt it on and go, so although the upfront cost change is scary, over the life of the plane I think I would easily recoup that investment. Plus, like I say, I am not an engine tinkerer, and don't want to spend (any) time working out how to get it working right. But how to persuade the banker to come up with the funds!

Rotax 912ULS engines are in 95% of factory build of LSA aircraft. Bolt in and go flying for years of trouble free reliable flying.
