Just got my plans today and i was wondering, why they are they metric from a company in Missouri?

Building my 701 converted me to metric. Have to remember that Zenith came from Canada originally, so metric was a given

I too was surprised at how much better metric is -- at least for building an airplane.

I had no idea that metric would be such a convenience and error reducer.
Converting to or from metric is a pain. Using it is a wonderful. (And I'm and engineer who should have known better.)

Hey. Most of the rest of the wold went metric in the 60's

Good enough. I'm a machinist so i just convert everything to decimal anyway.

We're metric because the rest of the world is metric (including the US in many cases). We find that builders make fewer errors with metric measurements because it's easier to use (it's all divisible by ten...). Our materials and hardware are what's commonly available (such as AN hardware and 0.025-inch thick aluminum).
