Salut Robert,

Merci encore.

Salut robert   after many years of trying to decide which plane is best for me i just purchased the 801. spent 1 week in midland putting together 1 wing.

I have a Merlin Ez advanced ultralight.with a 100 hp rotax. its a blast to fly. took it all the way to james bay this summer!

I live in the bush 54 miles north of PH2,  deep River Ontario.  I will use my 801 for the M&M run, milk & mail that is!  And of course touring the northern regions of quebec.  Next year in the 801 we will do the grand tour. up the st lawrence to labrador then up to Ungava bay  then to ivujivik then down back  home to 10 mile.

So we are full time on the construction of the 801. will install a O 375 at 195 hp....

I think what you were asking about were the (3) stall fences I put on each wing. The answer is yes, I made them, out of 3/4" x 3/4" angle, and they are effective for several reasons.
1. The plans don't call for false ribs (IE. reinforcement) to the skin between each main rib, hence oil canning. These eliminate the canning in the (3) large bays outside of the tank area.
2. The stall fences seem to make the plane more stable (IE> Less falling leaf effect) In slow landing.
3. Other then the fact that they look neat, they keep the wing covers off the skin.
I also put horizontal stabilizers on the tail that make the plane less prone to tail wig/wag because of the sensitivity of the rudder pedals, and I have (30) VG's on the front curve of the elevator, that GREATLY increase the power you have to raise the nose in extreme slow flight

Rob,

Afraid I was caught at a weak moment - seems like each section and or task begins with a little head stratching - then sleep on it - then do - then teach. Actually, quite a bit further down the road - finishing up the wiring as we speak - about ready to hook up the BAT and see if there is smoke or lite. Then its hang the windshield, doors etc. The wings and tail feathers are allready built and waiting.

Thanks for the comments

Phil
