Yesterday morning weather was good so made the first flight with my 701. I had never flown a 701 before or a plane with a joystick. The angle of attack at take off surprised me a little so the take off was a little sloppy. Flew for 45 minutes remaining over the Rushville IL airport. All temps stayed in the green and everything was looking good. I had to make some adjustments on the flaperons, when I landed, because I had to hold the stick pretty hard to the right to maintain a level flight attitude. I then did a good inspection of the plane to check for leaks or anything else I could find wrong. Everything looked good, so went and ate breakfast and came back to the airport and flew for another 45 minutes. By then the wind had picked up to around 15 knots. I did a few more landings and tied the plane down for the night. I will do a good preflight and check this morning and do more flight testing today.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats. I appreciate it. I'll have to admit, there is no feeling quite like taking off in an aircraft you built. Especially when you realize everything is going to hold together and it really does fly.

Thanks everyone. Chris, I have the Jab 2200. Sweet little engine. Will post some photos a little later. Planning on paint next spring after all adjustments etc. are done.

Congratulations, Mike! First flights give me a little more juice to get my 750 in the air.
