Hello all, Well things have been going pretty well, slight delay however as our EAA chapter has been asked by the Wisconsin Aviation hall of Fame to build a 1/4 scale model of the 1909 Curtis Gold Bug, this airplane was the first private aircraft owned in the US and was purchased and flown in November of 1909 in Beloit, WI by Arthur P. Warner. Mr. Warner purchased the airplane from a display at a major retail store in NY and had it shipped to Beloit. When it arrived it was packaged in a crate in pieces somewhat like we get kits. However, there were NO instructions as to how to put it together, Mr. Warned did in fact put it together and also had to teach himself to fly it. He was the 11th american to fly an aircraft. I will try to include a coup;e of photos of the project under construction.
