Hey all its me again Im tring to get the bugs worked out of this plane.   Does anybody know why my 912 rotax 80hp keeps running on for about 15 to 20 seconds after I turn the key off. My idol is around 1900 rpm at shut down but continues on at 350 rpm for a short time.  It just started doing this last week.  I sure could use some help.   Thanks again

David, I was wondering if you have any updated info on this problem. If you do could you please post it ?

I would suspect a poor ground to one ignition. When you do run-up checks, etc, does the RPM's drop immediately when you turn off one ignition at a time ? That check should verify your ground to each ignition.

I think you would get more help if you post this question on the forum page rather than a blog post.

15 to 20 second is rather a long time and While my first guess would have been poor fuel and carbon deposits it reminds me of a similar problem we had with our engine. Check the wiring coming from the 2 ignition modules located on top of engine and assure you don't have a loose connection and/or chafed, broken wire. This may prevent the engine from a proper shut down. The wires are in my opinion too short and tend to kink and vibrate around the terminals. Hope this helps.
