Corvair powered 601xl receives airworthiness certificate

My Fly-Corvair powered 601XL was deemed airworthy by the FAA today. After almost 4 and a half years of on and off building my airplane is ready to fly.

I own and built this plane w/ Vincent Olson. We are both ATP's and CFI's and fly for the airlines. Flight testing will commence asap. We're looking forward to quickly flying off the 40 hours and going on a midwest tour to include St.Louis, Chicago, Indianappolis and KY before the plane goes to it's summer home at G05 near Pittsburgh, PA.

Taxi testing is going well. The engine fired right up the first time (see previous posts) and hasn't missed a beat since. I'll keep y'all updated over the next few weeks. See ya at sun n fun.
