Saw Ben Haas 801 for sale on Barnstomers. The add said the late Ben Haas. Ben was a innovator with his V-8 conversion and other mods. Does anyone know any more about this?  Respectfully.

I'm not aware of what has  transpired. His real first name was Stephen, using his middle name shortened up, from Benjamin,  as he came over here 1x to meet me, living in the same state.  He had a much, older Jackson Hole friend who came along, bringing Ben along to inspect a plane I had for sale w/ the 914Turbo. Ben's history, included, but not ltd. to, building race car engines in Florida...stock car drivers, etc, given his rep. before relocating to Jackson Hole, flying out of Teton Village, just S.  He flew the red 801, 1 yr. to Oshkosh, original Ford engine he custom blt. up. In now wishing I'd have asked him how much he had in that engine, I could have now posted. If some one is an interested buyer, I would not be the least afraid of that power plant. As always, many ins. co's. frown on auto conversions, although his design superior-perhaps in elevated very  top % in the U.S. If I could put an 801 to good use, I'd buy it.  I may have a DVD on it, is still over S. of Jackson Hole.

I also saw The Barnstormers post. Ben has been a great contributor to this site and the Zenith community. If he had passsed, I'd like to know too.
