Today was a late start and I must finish early to catch up on the 290 messages since Sunday, so it is simple tasks for the day, best place to start is the landing gear. Here on the table I have inverted the gear leg and used my axle drilling jig to ensure straight holes.

Perfect holes make this a simple as fast installation, though I went through 3 batteries in the cordless drills to do these 8 holes.

One wheel done and another to go.

Both wheels are done and assembled, I am ready to install this puppy, but I won't have time today so i will work on the firewall for a bit.

Time to install the L's to the firewall, this requires a bit of finess, nevertheless it is a simple process.

Got the motor mounts lined up ready for drilling. The Firewall is at 80 degrees and everything is set. I have used a digital protractor and a plumb line to ensure accuracy.

One thing I forgot to add to an earlier post was the seat base; the pre-drilled holes are actually on the seat base and I am unable to reach them in any way to use the pre-drilled holes. I have requested that the holes be moved to the side skin to ensure that access is quite easy. However, for me I don't have that option so I installed doubler L's under the seat pan so that I do not have to line up the pre-drilled hole I cannot access. Now we have the problem of how to ensure that the holes I drill from the outside side skin go where I wan' t them. Hence the magnets, I use these little suckers quite a bit in construction. Install one on the inside of the skin and one on the outside, ensure they are the same size then move the inside one down to the top of the seat base, 10mm from the edge of the magnet is the perfect center of the flange. I use two sets to ensure that I know the angle on the inside.
